Instruments that read the invisible.

A field of one hundred thousand particles is drifting behind this page. It only resolves into structure where you slow down. Scroll to take a reading.

01 · the wake

Every force leaves a wake. We build the sensors that make the wake legible.

Wind, current, charge, pressure: none of them are visible, and none of them ever will be. The particle is. SONDE reads a field the only way a field can be read, by watching what it moves.

02 · the reading

It reads where you dwell.

Move fast and the field is only drift, a hundred thousand particles finding their own way. Slow down and the instrument takes a reading: the drift organises, the source resolves, structure appears. The measurement is the attention.

03 · the instruments

Four sensors, one field.

Each reads a different invisible. Change the source above and watch the field answer to a different instrument.

  • SONDE-D

    dipole probe

Maps the pull between two charges. Reads polarity, gradient, and the null line where the two exactly cancel.

    reads
    polarity · gradient · null-line
    range
    ±40 field units
    output
    live vector
  • SONDE-V

    vortex meter

Traces rotation. Circulation, vorticity, and the still eye at the centre where the field turns on itself.

    reads
    circulation · vorticity · eye
    range
    0 to 12 rad/s
    output
    live scalar
  • SONDE-L

    laminar gauge

Follows steady flow. Direction, shear, and the thin sheets that slide past one another without ever mixing.

    reads
    direction · shear · sheets
    range
    0 to 8 units/s
    output
    flow field
  • SONDE-C

    convergence cell

Finds where everything is drawn to one point. Sinks, wells, and the quiet moment before a collapse.

    reads
    sinks · wells · collapse
    range
    full domain
    output
    density map

04 · field notes

“We stopped trying to photograph the wind. We built something that lets you feel it move.”

05 · commission

Tell us which invisible you need to see.

We will build the sonde that reads it. One field, one instrument, one reading at a time.
